  SOPHMORES!!!!

By Shira Eisenman

The sophomores had one very entertaining and exciting weekend

in Fairlawn, New Jersey. Why, you may ask… because it was

SOPHMORE SHABBATON. It all started with eating out in Teaneck

and buying delicious candy for one of their classmates. The girls then

got settled at their hosts’ houses and began to get ready

for one of the most awesome Shabbasos of their lives.

On Friday night, after shul, the girls heared an incredible

speech from Rabbi Hagler about first impressions. They then had a

scrumptious and yummy meal, which included some beautiful singing of the zemirot by the girls. After that, Mrs. Lustiger asked each of the teachers - Mrs. Rosen, Mrs. Shachnovitz, Aliza, and Rabbi Hagler- various questions about challenges with their friends and impressions they each had growing up. They all gave very inspiring and interesting answers.

             Then, let the games begin...

The girls played a 3D game of clue, the ‘which teacher killed

which student’ version. It was very enjoyable and entertaining to

play, but unfortunately it was getting late and it was time to get a

good night's "sleep".

Good Morning, tenth graders; the girls woke up bright

and early to daven at shul, but before long were getting a very

special and inspiring speech from the prestigious Rabbi Yudin.

After that, the sophomores ate a delicious meal

It was then time to hear the amazing choir sing and see a

remarkable skit from the girls’ classmates.  Shabbos was coming

to a close, but not before Mrs. Lustiger’s marvelous talk about how much we affect our peers and how important it is that we all leave a good impression on them.

Mall Mania: the fun didn't end when shabbos was over because the girls got to play a game in the Garden State Mall! The girls were put into groups and each group had a list of initials and had to find items in the mall that had those initials. For example, one said BHS so you could find a brown hooded sweater and you had to take a picture with everyone in your group with the object that you found. It was very enjoyable and fun.

All in all, the girls had a great and exciting weekend with their classmates and teachers. Thank you to all of our teachers who put a lot of hard work into creating an incredible shabbos for us!!!
